Explore the Coast!

A new site launch is always exciting but now and again we get to work on something that really gets us bouncing!

The North Devon Coast AONB approached us last year to produce a content managed website showcasing the local environment and support sustainable access and information to the historic landscape, nature and natural beauty of the North Devon Coast.

The website aims to encourage local residents and visitors to better understand and appreciate the area's heritage, leave the car behind, and explore the coast around them from a fresh perspective.

The AONB's research and consultation with local residents and businesses which revealed a desire for:

  • Greater information about the environment and heritage in the North Devon coast.
  • Information on free activities in the AONB especially for families.
  • Measures to encourage people to visit places beyond the main tourist ‘honeypots’.
  • Initiatives encouraging people to reduce their car use.

Most information is accessed through the interactive map, which presents a massive amount of info covering the whole AONB. Locations are sorted according by theme - so users can quickly access information and places that interests them.

The site crammed with useful info — links to public transport information, walking routes, cycle information and public rights of ways, together with family activities suggestions, resources and a personal itinerary planning tool.

The AONB is an incredibly beautiful, wonderful place and really important to us here at Space dog so we were doubly thrilled to be asked to work on the project with our good friends webko and now it's live we can't wait to get stuck in and use it next time we visit.

Why don't you have a go too — it's well worth a visit!
